The William & Mary Comparative Humanities Undergraduate Journal is a student-run academic journal for undergraduate work in the humanities. Undergraduate students at W&M are invited to submit English-language papers that have not been previously published.
Papers must exhibit the modes of inquiry emphasized in English or Literary and Cultural Studies classes at William & Mary; in other words, a submission needs to present original, critical insights into the processes that drive the author’s chosen text(s). Works that can be critically examined by authors include literature, film, television, videogames, photography, art, and other cultural texts. Papers/assignments resulting from coursework, as well as independent research, are welcome.
Papers can be related to other fields in the Humanities at W&M, such as Sociology, Philosophy, American Studies, Linguistics, Art History, Theatre & Dance, Modern Languages and Literatures, and Music, but must yield critical insights into the text(s) at hand.
